Tomorrow, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will travel from Dhaka to New Delhi to witness the swearing-in of Narendra Modi, who will be the prime minister of India for a third term.

PM’s speech writer M Nazrul Islam informed BSS, “The Prime Minister will leave Dhaka for New Delhi at 4pm tomorrow and will return home at noon on 9 June after attending Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.”

During a phone call earlier on Wednesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended an invitation to his counterpart in Bangladesh to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his government. The offer was accepted by Sheikh Hasina.

In the 18th Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA narrowly defeated the opposition INDIA alliance to win 293 seats, while Modi is expected to take the oath of office on June 8.
