After welcoming back Tarique Zia, the man found guilty, from London, Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister and head of the ruling Awami League (AL), reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to carrying out the court’s decision.
“At this point, the sole objective is to retrieve Tarique Zia, the black sheep. From wherever he may be, we will bring the convicted accused of the 10-truck guns haul case, the August 21, 2004, grenade attack, and the corruption champion and carry out their penalties, she announced.
“We’ve already had conversations with the British government to bring the wanted criminal back to us so we can carry out his sentence,” she continued.
At her official residence, Ganabhaban in the capital, the prime minister made these remarks while greeting the newly elected Kotalipara Upazila chairman and vice-chairman of the Gopalganj district.
According to Sheikh Hasina, the nation’s citizens do not want extremists and arsonists to hold political power once more.
“The people of my country will be liberated from the clutches of the militants and arsonists if the punishment meted out to the black sheep, Tarique Zia,” she declared.
She stated that such horrible deeds will not be repeated, citing the nation’s arson attacks in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
She promised to implement the court rulings against Tarique and the convicted killers of the Father of the Nation who are on the run following their return to the nation, guaranteeing the safety and tranquility of her fellow citizens.
In addition to maintaining peace and security, my goal is to guarantee economic independence and a continuous path towards prosperity. We are striving to achieve the objective,” she remarked.
The president of the AL urged party officials and members to respond appropriately to those who want to mislead the public.
The prime minister claimed that because of the support of the residents of her constituency, which includes Tungipara and Kotalipara, she is able to fight for the prosperity of the nation.
