The Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) has requested that various ministries, departments, and other organizations limit government officials’ use of their cars. These officials are taking advantage of the facility in violation of their authority and the law.
The CAO said in a notification on Monday that it has been seen that numerous republican officials have been using official vehicles in violation of the law and their authority.
Numerous ministries and departments are even requisitioning cars from various offices, banks, insurance firms, and other entities without any justification.
The notification also stated that a large number of government employees who obtained auto loans under the “Authorized Government Officials Interest Free Loan and Car Service Monetization Policy-2020” have been receiving Taka 50,000 per month from the government for car maintenance, despite the fact that they are using government vehicles unethically and breaking the law.
This trend is making the public administration disorganized and financially wasteful. Public leaders’ morality is being called into question, and their reputation in society is being severely damaged.
According to the notification, the government has implemented a strict policy to achieve this.
