After the sudden passing of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the government has declared a day of state mourning for Thursday, according to a cabinet division announcement released on Tuesday.
According to the statement, all government, semi-government, autonomous, and educational institutions, as well as all public and private buildings and Bangladeshi embassies overseas, would fly the national flag at half mast on this day.
All mosques and other places of worship will hold special prayers on this day in an effort to grant the departed souls of those who perished in a recent helicopter disaster in the steep East Azerbaijan region of Iran, eternal peace.
Both Hossein Amirabdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran, and President Ebrahim Raisi perished in the helicopter accident.
