Indians Should Be Beware Of The Middle East As Iran-Israel Tensions Rise

Date:

The most recent of numerous significant events that have heightened regional tensions in the Middle East is the assassinations of leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah.

Middle East tensions have increased as a result of promises of retaliation from Iran and the organizations it backs about the deaths of senior Hamas and Hezbollah figures.
Israel reported that it killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut on Tuesday in retaliation for lethal missile fire that occurred on the Golan Heights last week.

Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas, was assassinated in the Iranian capital a few hours later, and last month, Fouad Shukur, the commander of Hezbollah, was killed in a strike in Lebanon.

The recent important occurrences that have escalated regional tensions during the Gaza war, which has pulled in forces backed by Iran in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, include the killings of leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah.

India and a number of other nations have been forced to exercise prudence in the area because to this increase.

In light of the growing tension in the area, Indian nationals living in Israel have been urged to exercise caution and abide by the safety procedures.

The warning for Indian people residing in Israel was issued just one day after the Indian Embassy in Beirut issued a strong warning to its residents not to visit Lebanon till further notice. They were also encouraged to depart from Lebanon.

Additionally, Air India announced yesterday that it will be ceasing operations to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, effective August 8.

US President Joe Biden stated late on Thursday that the death of Haniyeh had “not helped” the situation and that he was “very concerned” about the escalating tensions in the area.

Hezbollah-affiliated sources have revealed that Iranian officials met with representatives of the “axis of resistance,” a loose coalition of anti-Israel groups sponsored by Tehran, on Wednesday in Tehran to decide on next moves.

The person briefed on the discussion requested anonymity to discuss sensitive topics. “Two scenarios were discussed: a simultaneous response from Iran and its allies or a staggered response from each party,” the source added.

Israel threatened its enemies, saying Shukr’s killing was a reaction to last week’s deadly missile fire on the Golan Heights, threatening to “pay a very high price” for any further “aggression”.

In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “Israel is at a very high level of preparation for any scenario, both defensive and offensive.”
