Following her attendance at PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on Sunday at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met on Monday with Sonia Gandhi, the chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), Congress president Rahul Gandhi, and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ji greeted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed ji and met other delegates in New Delhi today,” the Congress said in a post on X, which included a video of the meeting.

The discussion covered a wide range of subjects in an effort to further the trust, cooperation, and dedication to reciprocal development that already exist between Bangladesh and India.

In a separate post on X, the India Youth Congress included some heartwarming images of Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi embracing the prime minister of Bangladesh, highlighting the close relationship between the Congress and Sheikh Hasina.

“The profound connection that has blossomed over the years is beautifully represented in these heartfelt moments between the Gandhi Family and Sheikh Hasina,” the India Youth Congress stated on X.
The father of Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was a friendly and cordial relationship’s founder of Bangladesh’s prime minister, Indira Gandhi.

During the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, Indira Gandhi was a key figure in favor of Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan.

Following the assassination of her father, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, Sheikh Hasina was going through one of the most trying times in her life. India provided her with refuge during this time.
